▶ 001. Is This The End?

Ships may take off from Cape Canaveral, but they do not return there. Instead, ships typically land in the sea. Fortunately, technology has come a long way, so the landing is fairly smooth… compared to the controlled crash landings of the past.

The ship lands close to Tokyo Bay and the autopilot kicks in, guiding them back to the nearest harbor. While they wait on board, they will be inundated with messages from both LILITH and the space center that had tried to send messages earlier in their voyage.

Not long after they left for space, an event occurred on earth. Rifts began to open up all over the world, and it has resulted in multiple large scale disasters. Earthquakes rock entire countries, tsunamis sweep shores, and massive landslides wreak havoc. Multiple world governments have moved forward with what some people are calling ‘doomsday plans’.

Government agencies and military are mobilized to rescue as many people as possible and relocate them to safer areas like Japan, Korea, Mexico, Egypt, England, and more. The Outsiders may recognize these safe zones as places from their mission records. It seems that their past actions have managed to suppress Rift activity in the areas and the Rifts in those areas are essentially dormant. However, they are still areas with known rifts so while they may be safe for now, there's no telling how long that will last.

When they pull into port, there's little time to rest. They will immediately be mobilized to help with the global evacuation efforts. People from countries all over the world pour into Neo Tokyo through warp drives, ships, and planes. There isn't much shelter in the city so unfortunately, they have to turn to other areas like Neo Kyoto and Okinawa that are a little more established.

Outsiders will have to tend to civilians who are reeling from the effects of rushed warping. They will also have to help pass out emergency supplies and set up emergency shelters that they can settle in. Healers and medics will also have a designate spot. Tents are available but there are abandoned buildings on the outskirts of cities that they can also use. Help clear out the local kaiju and create a secure area for evacuees.

While helping the refugees, they can learn about what happened in their homes. They will hear various stories about rifts opening, disasters striking, and kaiju destroying their homes. The Yellow River floods in China, snowstorms bury Canada, earthquakes rattle Australia, and tornados sweep across Europe. Kaiju rise from the sea, come down from mountains, and manifest from rifts that appear in the sky.

What will the Outsiders say when these civilians look them in the eye and ask, "Is the world ending?"

▶ 002. Navigating the Sea.

While the Outsiders help with the immediate rush of refugees in the nation, LILITH has begun to coordinate with the many different governments and agencies around the world to try and find a way to save… Everything. They know from experience that the best way to close a Rift is to defeat the kaiju that come from them, but given the sheer amount of rifts opening up, there is no way they can seal each one individually. They have to be strategic, and the question is left at where to begin.

It seems that a large concentration of rift energy is centered around southeastern Europe and northern Africa. This is further confirmed by the Alexandria Institute in Egypt that says while they are relatively safe for the time being, the rift activity in their area seems to fluctuate, especially out towards sea. They don't know what is out there, but there is something. They just need to find a way to get there.

On the heels of the announcement, a message comes to all the Outsiders. Hearing Eadmund speak might feel more like a bad omen these days (and he admits as much himself!) but there is one thing that he makes clear: England is prepared to help; “Come to us,” he tells them, voice a low boom, “and we will do all that we can!”

Upon arrival in the familiar castle walls, all the Outsiders will be met by Eadmund himself, majestic in his lion glory, with the smaller body of Gwen at his side. She looks different from the last time that the Outsiders had seen her; she is less haunted, but not without her edge. She lets Eadmund do the talking, and the explanation is swift: together, they will travel to the abandoned City of London, and there their combined powers will be able to open a major Rift. They are kaiju themselves, after all, and with their connection rebuilt… They’ll be able to do it, they’re sure.

Before they go, they ask one last boon of their Outsider friends: please help as many of the new refugees as possible as the final preparations take place. The missions are similar to what Gwen had asked of them months ago - hunt, repair, rebuild, and take care of anyone who needs it. This time, she is a visible force, and if stopped and spoken to, her voice gentles. She is clearly grateful to the Outsiders, even if she’s not quite capable of saying anything. Her eyes often drift to Eadmund, who rumbles in delight any time their eyes meet.

The agreement is to leave late the following evening. Throughout the next day, some of the nosier Outsiders might notice Gwen and Eadmund having what seems to be a series of heated discussions with one another. The subject of their disagreement comes as soon as the Outsiders are in London and preparing for the Rift to be opened: one of them must stay behind to close the Rift and keep everyone else safe.

As soon as the Outsiders are ready, all preparations complete, Eadmund and Gwen stand before a wide open space in the destroyed capital. Together, they begin to open the Rift, her hand resting upon the strong flank of her lion partner, their shared powers tearing it open, a portal to a relative unknown. ”Quick,” Gwen shouts to them all, her eyes wild, bright with her power; a kaiju in spirit if not in form. “Before it closes, or something comes through to us!”

Travelling through this particular Rift is not as uncomfortable as previous ones. It feels more like a gentle embrace.

She waits until all the Outsiders are through before she turns her gaze to Eadmund. It is clear he intends to join their allies in their mission, but before he can take a single step forward, Gwen is leaping from him and throwing herself through the Rift, the break of their connection enough to leave it flickering towards closing. The last thing the Outsiders will hear before it closes is a roar of anguish, and the sound of Gwen drawing her blade.

There’s no regret on her face; only steeled determination.

“Let’s begin.”

▶ 003. A Garden of Eden.

On the other side of the rift, it appears to be a desolate wasteland; a vast plain stretching towards the horizon. The area may look familiar to those who are historians and understand Greek architecture, but the time period seems to be undetermined for now.

Broken architecture, untraveled ruins, a mix of sand, rock and dying plants litter the entire area. There seems to be no sign of humanity, here, but those who possess abilities to sense power will feel it; beneath their feet and in the air they breathe. A powerful source but no inclination as to where it is coming from. Gwen will lead the group of Outsiders, especially drawn to the energy source. However, on Outsiders, they will be reluctant to press forward for an unknown reason.. Gwen encourages those gently, but some particularly stubborn Outsiders may be need more then her kind words. Those stronger willed, drag your team mates a long by whatever force it takes. Gwen will continue onward with her sword drawn, leading everyone into a lush looking jungle. The jungle looks out of place in this environment, as it is teeming with flora and bright colors. Go forward, because there is no going back.

▶ 004. Ruin of the Exalted.

Within the jungle, there seems to be some contradiction. The general vibe feels peaceful once inside the jungle, but there are whispers in many different languages surrounding Gwen and the Outsiders. Some are in the tongue of Outsiders' native language, and even of the ocular devices translate for everyone, they will still know when things are spoken to them. The things they hear and generally not nice and threatening, promising Outsiders they will surely die if they continue much further. Some voices may try to convince Outsiders to turn on one another or kill each other. Gwen encourages them along, radiating a comforting presence. Despite these threats, no imminent danger seems to be afoot. The sound of a water fall is heard in the distance among the unnerving whispering.

Will you continue or will you stay? Will you risk your life or will to choose safety?

Eventually, a large ruin with a kaiju statue on the outside that is surrounded by a lake and mote will be seen. The kaiju resembles the Imugi, large and serpent like with twelve, angelic wings and the head of a lion. Out of its mouth spews water that looks clean and refreshing. There is an open entrance that Gwen is heading towards.

Surely this isn't a trap, right?

▶ 005. A Message to All.

Inside the ruins, a fragrant smell is sensed; alluring. Another contradiction against the voices in everybody's head. The dew covering the ruins seems sweet, along with any water that may drip on the trespassers' head. Sunlight peers through the cracks of the old ruin, but as Gwen follows her senses, the tunnels grow darker and the spiraling staircase leading down below... it gets narrower. One wrong move could send someone to their death below. Tread carefully.

Down at the bottom of this staircase lies a murky pool, the sunshine casting light down upon the pool. In the center of it, there is an old book which is sealed with a key. The text on the outside of the book is a language unfamiliar to all, even Gwen cannot decipher it. Still, the book seems to be of great significance, and the energy that it exerts is what attracted Gwen down here this whole time.

"This is it. This will explain it all. Be on guard, my friends. This could be dangerous."

As soon as she takes the book from its spot, peeling old vines from it, the ground begins to crumble and shake. It's an earthquake! And amongst the sounds of crashing stone, there is another warning that rings in the ears of the Outsiders: "I told you that you would die!"

Gwen tries her best to open a rift, but it takes a little bit of time. Debris crash down all around the Outsiders, possibly injuring them. In a moment of panic, the only place that Gwen thinks to retreat at pops in her mind. A small rift opens; it might be a tight squeeze.

"Hurry, before it is too late!"

As the Outsiders squeeze into the rift, it spits everyone out in a time period and place that is very familiar: The cafeteria in the LILITH main base, Neo Tokyo. Characters may help others that are injured get to the medbay or rest until further instructions involving the relic are sent out.
