You've been here longer than I have; I imagine eating strange things is normal in the course of life around the base.

I wouldn't say it's normal. At least we don't eat it down to the last drop like we did. Besides, you do know we have decent food around too, don't you? [ maybe not at base, but within the city itself. ]

Anyway, I care very little about food to begin with. I'll trust your judgement.

I wouldn't say it's a major concern, but it's something you should probably still look out for.

I could tell. You didn't seem to care much outside of texture.

I don't know any child that defaults to spice and bitterness.

Nothing about the situation was normal to begin with. I do like relatively tame foods.

What counts as tame?

Cheese is rather tame. So is chamomile tea.

Depends on the cheese, doesn't it? Some smell pretty strong.

Those two things may be a bit harder to find around, though. The cheese here is probably made from a lab, or extracted from a kaiju.

... I suppose I'll have to make a request for what I like; I've heard that that's possible.

Yes. I would like to get certain things, if there's no limit to the size of it, or the type.

... but food, definitely, is also one of them.

It's not bad. You do get some junk sometimes, though. Or more like the things your request may not be exactly what you think it is.

Well ... it may seem silly, but I really miss my armour. Even if by modern standards, it won't do much at all.

But it was my father's, and I don't have a lot of keepsakes from him.

I suppose the only way to find out is to try it myself.

If you're used to it, then sometimes that's best. I think it's better to stick with equipment you're used to. If it's been in your family that long, it shouldn't be useless at any rate. [ very dry take aside... ]

Yeah, you may as well see how it does. You can also use the simulation room if you're not up for risks.

That may be true, but my world is so far removed from the present-day. I need to evolve if I am to be useful to anyone.

But bringing in comforts from home isn't a bad idea.
